Why these dental imaging tools used?
At our dental clinic, we harness the power of digital technology to capture highly detailed images, including small radiographs, OPG (Orthopantomogram), and CBCT (Cone Beam CT) scans.
These advanced imaging techniques allow us to accurately diagnose dental issues with minimal radiation exposure. Small digital radiographs help us detect cavities and monitor root health, while OPG provides a panoramic view of your jaw and teeth for comprehensive assessment.
For more complex cases, CBCT scans offer 3D imaging that enables precise planning for implants, extractions, and other advanced treatments, ensuring the highest level of care for your oral health.

Small Radiographs

At most dental examinations small radiographs may be taken. Bitewing and periapical radiographs are essential dental X-rays used for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Bitewing radiographs capture detailed images of the upper and lower back teeth in a single view, helping to detect cavities between teeth and monitor bone levels.
Periapical radiographs focus on a smaller area, showing the entire tooth from the crown to the root tip, along with surrounding bone. They are crucial for diagnosing issues like tooth infections, abscesses, and bone loss around the root. Both types of radiographs are vital for maintaining oral health and guiding effective dental care.
OPG X-Rays
An Orthopantomogram (OPG) X-ray provides a panoramic view of the entire mouth, including all teeth, the upper and lower jaws, and surrounding structures like the temporomandibular joints (TMJ). This wide-angle image is crucial for assessing overall dental health, identifying impacted teeth, evaluating jawbone conditions, and planning orthodontic treatments. OPG X-rays offer a comprehensive overview, making them an essential tool in diagnosing complex dental issues and developing effective treatment plans.

CBCT Scans

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scans provide 3D imaging of the teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures with exceptional detail. Unlike traditional X-rays, CBCT scans offer a three-dimensional view, allowing for precise assessment of bone density, nerve pathways, and tooth positions.
This advanced imaging technique is crucial for complex dental procedures such as implant placement, orthodontic planning, and diagnosing conditions like TMJ disorders. CBCT scans enhance accuracy in treatment planning and ensure better patient outcomes by providing a comprehensive view of the oral and maxillofacial region
